whether you are starting in a new industry or like me were just sick of gloves just not holding up to workload, ive got a few reccomendations that i have personally used and found the best as per industry/climate.
so lets start with warehouse and logistics, now in the industry i am pretty experience with gloves as i have been a forklift driver and warehouse operative most of my working life, the importance of gloves is usually very very overlooked by both employees and employers, hand safety is a big thing, you dont want to lose fingers or get your hands cut to ribbons or get any injury, the main thing is, get home in the same condition you left the house.
I have to say this post contains affiliate links, these links take you to the product I am recommending for ease of access, there is no extra cost for you to purchase from these links I just get a little cut from the purchase to help keep this blog up and running, your support is greatly appreciated, just click the names of the gloves/product.
right so my top picks for warehousing has probably got to be :
mechanix-light use
now ive used these gloves for years and absolutely love them, comfortable long lasting, and just in general good all round light use gloves, perfect for operating machine
next is warehouse heavy duty, these gloves i have had for a while and just cant get enough of them, great for those cold days at work or at home,
CUTTER THERMAL CW200
now these gloves are also so comfortable and in the cold weather are an absolute god send, very hard wearing and are tough! they are made of goatskin leather so have a very good abrasion resistance, and mine have seemed to last 5 years and still going strong,
okay lets move on to another industry i have alot of experience with, agriculture,
okay first these ones arent very hard wearing but you get what you pay for, but when dealing with animals and just all sorts of substanced that need water resistance you cant get better than:
portwest nitrile dipper knitted cuff
now they dont look pretty but they definately get the job done and for the price easily replaceable their resistance to water and other substances (oil, greese, slurry) is a life saver especially when working with PTO shafts that fall into a big puddle of.........moving on....
my second is a little more hard wearing and a bit more comfortable and i used during summer to just proect my hand and fingers from the dreaded blood blister,
these gloves are really heavy duty hard wearing and extremely comfortable! When i worked in a brewery warehouse trust me these gloves came in handy when it came to broken glass everywhere, these things just didn't seem to quit and due to them being leather after a very short "
breaking in" period they fit just like well.......like a glove.
i wouldn't be doing my due diligence if i did not have some honourable mentions:
first for general milking or mechanics or some really dirty but not too abrasive work you've got to have some good tough nitrile gloves and I don't think you can get any better than:
BLACK MAMBA
Black mamba nitrile gloves i have personally used to work on tractors with grease guns, oil and also in the parlour while milking, good all around keep your hands clean gloves, pretty tough too, super comfortable and completely latex free.
Another latex free glove that i personally loved although they are a little "loud" in colour scheme are:
These nitrile gloves are super grippy so great for working in oil or grease as I said a little loud, but they are definitely worth a try, between these and the black mambas i really couldn't choose so i always had a box of each in my car as my go toos.
So these are a few of the gloves I recommend as per industries i've worked in, as i said i've been through soo many gloves in my times in warehouse and agriculture, got so many which just didn't stand the test of time, and it was frustrating to say the least so give maybe one or two of the gloves a try.
